Christmas is the busiest time of the year for most businesses and couriers, here's some quick tips for keeping your parcels and payments safe and having a stress-free order!
1. Deliver to an address where someone is present
Christmas is unfortunately also the busiest time for thieves. We strongly recommend getting your parcels sent to an address where someone is there. Whether this is your work address or a trusted neighbour is up to you but can save a lot of hassle! Lost parcel claims can take up to 3 months to resolve so best to avoid at all costs!
2. Make sure your payments are secure
Don't ever use a website if you're not sure it's us! If the URL doesn't have cardmerchant.co.nz in it, it's probably not us. Also make sure the website has a secure URL (https at the start) and only use payment methods you trust. Credit card and PayPal are great payment methods.
3. Select a suitable shipping method
If your item is a boxed item and you're concerned about the condition of the packaging, it's best to choose our boxed shipping option. The shipping in a bag doesn't always protect against bumps and knocks in transit.
4. Leave plenty of time for your order to arrive
Couriers work a lot of overtime at Christmas but sometimes they're still a little stretched. Make sure you allow another couple of working days (i.e. not weekend days) for orders to arrive. Everyone is doing this best to ensure your order arrives in a timely manner but there can be delays at this time of year.
5. Report suspicious behaviour
If you see emails that say they're from us but look suspicious, let us know! Equally if you see someone snooping around your neighbourhood that could potentially be up to no good, let the police know and provide a description so they can monitor suspicious behaviour.
We hope these tips help you have a stress-free holiday season! Happy holidays from the team at Card Merchant
