The biggest Armageddon of the year is almost here, so we wanted to let you know what we have planned for the event! This will be our biggest event to date, with Card Merchant in multiple places across the whole of Armageddon!
We have moved from our regular spot so we're closer to our friends demonstrating Lorcana, so make sure you check out the map above, we're just one stand behind our regular spot.
So what do we have going on?
Learn To Play
On the main stand (stand 25), we have tables set up for you to learn to play Yu-Gi-Oh, Flesh and Blood, or Grand Archive! If you've always wanted to give these games a go, or just want to try out some new games, this is definitely worth checking out. As always, learning to play is free, and we have some great bundles available for new players.
As well as this, we are just across from the Disney Lorcana learn to play booth, and we have some excellent specials on for new players, so make sure you check that out too and head over for some great deals if you enjoy the game!
Star Wars Unlimited
We have partnered up to be able to bring you Star Wars Unlimited learn-to-play at stand 110. This relatively new card game has been extremely popular over the last year, so if you've been meaning to give it a go, head over to stand 110 to try it out.
We'll also be having a showcase of the very popular kickstarter game, Altered TCG here as well. This was the most funded TCG kickstarter of all time, so also definitely worth checking out.
Board Game Library
We have an epic board game library set up at stand 110 Head down to check out a huge range of games that you can try for free, you might find your new favourite board game! This will be significantly bigger than any board game library that we have bought in the past, so well worth checking out for when you need a break from all the walking. As well as this, we also have over 200 different board games available to browse on stand 25.
Tournament Area
We also have the tournament area again this year. This year, we have the following games at the tournament area:
Saturday, Sunday and Monday:
- Starter Challenge for Grand Archive
- Starter Challenge for Yu-Gi-Oh
- Starter Challenge for Flesh and Blood
- Starter Challenge for Disney Lorcana
- Starter Challenge for Star Wars Unlimited
- Learn to Play Pokemon
- Pokemon Trade and Meet
Yu-Gi-Oh Special Events:
- Time Wizard Plush Event (Saturday 11am)
- King of the Hill (Sunday 1-4pm)
What's a starter challenge? These are free events where you use a starter deck to play against other new players, so everyone is on a relatively even playing field. All you need to enter is to buy a starter deck. You can then earn stamps which you can exchange for promos! Win or lose, everyone has the opportunity to win promos. This is perfect for anyone that learnt to play at Armageddon and want to give their new deck a go.
Check out the Armageddon website here for more details on tournaments on during the weekend.
Mystery Boxes
It wouldn't be an Armageddon without our mystery boxes! We still have a slightly expanded range of mystery boxes available for this Armageddon, including:
- Pokemon ($40 and $100)
- Magic: the Gathering ($40 and $100)
- Yu-Gi-Oh ($40 and $100)
- Pop! Vinyls ($40)
- Board Games ($40 and $100)
- Dungeons and Dragons ($40 and $100)
These are limited in number, so if there's a particular one you're after, we do advise getting in early, especially for the Pop! ones. As experienced Armageddon attendees will know, we generally sell out of most of our mystery boxes, especially the popular pop types such as Star Wars and Disney, so stop by early if you're after one of those!
Great Deals
We also have tonnes of other great deals and specials on at the stand (stand 25). For the first time ever, we even have a clearance section on the stand! If you're looking for some cheap accessories, a new game, or even just some boosters to crack or use for artwork, definitely make sure you check this section out.
We'll have a range of other great specials across the whole stand, so if there's something you're after, it's definitely worth checking out if we have it there!
Store Information
So what does this all mean for the store?
Don't worry, the store will still be operating as usual, but we will have a skeleton crew on, which means enquiries may take longer than usual to receive a reply. If you have something urgent that you need sorted, we won't be actively monitoring our emails during setup and event days, so it is best to give the WestCity store a call on 0224349558 and they will be able to help with any enquiries or order issues.
We're looking forward to a massive weekend, and we so look forward to seeing you there! Make sure you keep an eye on our stories on Facebook or Instagram to get a behind-the-scenes look into setup, as well as keeping up with what's going on across the weekend. See you soon at stand 25!
